Raymond EvisonRaymond Evison is renowned as a clematis breeder with over 5 decades of experience and history creating some of the world’s best clematis.

Since he began working with clematis at the age of sixteen, Raymond J. Evison has introduced more than 100 species and cultivars to gardeners worldwide.

His exhibits at the Chelsea Flower show have gained numerous gold medals and in 1995 he was awarded the Royal Horticultural Societies Victoria Medal of Honour for outstanding service to British Horticulture.

Empress Clematis

Clematis ‘Empress’

This amazing double flowering clematis is ideal for containers or small gardens. Masses of flowers appear in late spring and early summer as well as late summer. Has a compact bushy habit. Grows to 6ft. Should be lightly pruned in early spring. Hardy in zones 4-9.

Crystal Fountain Clematis

Clematis ‘Crystal Fountain’

Another great clematis vine with bluish double flowers that bloom in late spring, early summer and again in late summer.  Grows to 6ft in height making it ideal for containers, patios and small gardens. Should be lightly pruned in early spring. Hardy in zones 4-9.

Cherokee Clematis

Clematis ‘Cherokee’

Another compact patio clematis from Ray Evison. Grows 3-4ft in height but still has vigorous re-growth after pruning. Prune each spring by cutting 12 inches away. An excellent clematis for growing in containers, on patios, or in small gardens. Flowers from spring to late summer and is suitable for sun or part sun. Hardy in zones 4-9

Rebecca Clematis

Clematis ‘Rebecca’

Rebecca is an outstanding clematis vine for growing in a container or in the garden. Dramatic red flowers bloom in early summer to early autumn. Very free flowering. Suitable for sun or part sun. Will grow 6-8ft in height. Should be lightly pruned each spring. Hardy in zones 4-9

Chantilly Clematis

Clematis ‘Chantilly’

This compact patio clematis is ideal for growing in containers or in small gardens. Grows to only 3-4ft in height but still produces vigorous re-growth. Has a long flowering period from spring to late summer. Suitable for sun or part sun. Easy pruning – just cut 12 inches each spring. Hardy in zones 4-9.
