"Take & Make" Your Scarecrow This Year

Join our team and little Walter as we show and share how to build a scarecrow at home. This year, due to COVID-19 we are providing kits complete with wooden frame, burlap head, Hands & Feet Stuffing, Face Making Supplies and Used Clothing for purchase to take home. We love this community initiative for so many reasons.

Give Back To Local Charities

Partial proceeds of each kit goes to three local charities, O.W.L. Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society, Langley Inclusion Society and The Versatiles! Now more than ever, these local initatives need our help. By purchasing a kit here at Art's Nursery in Surrey, you are giving back to orphaned wildlife, children with special or developmental needs, and helping brighten the day of seniors in palliative care units.
O.W.L. Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society
OWL is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of raptors (eagles, falcons, hawks, osprey, owls, and vultures). Their facility and staff are equipped for the unique needs of these beautiful birds, offering them the best chance of recovery.
Langley Inclusion Society
Supporting over 1500 children with special or developmental needs, youth and adults with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as their families.
The Versatiles
An amazing group of volunteers who travel to seniors facilities and palliative care units performing and brightening the days of the patients.

Teach Your Family About UpCycling

Reuse, reduce, recycle! Arts and crafts don't always have to start with brand new items. Our Scarecrow Kits include mostly used materials and we encourage you to stuff your scarecrow with used materials such as grocery store bags, old potting containers, milk jugs, water bottles, tarp, package stuffing...and the list goes on. Your family can personalize their Scarecrows by using your old clothing that may no longer fit, have a few rips and tears or that you no longer wear. We look forward to see what you put together with your family at home! Be sure to share your finished Scarecrows on Social Media and tag us!

Use Your Hands And Imagination

The last six months have left many of us at home, rethinking ways to get creative, stay busy and have fun in a safe way. This activity is offline and hands on! You can have fun building your own Scarecrow all by yourself, together with your family or roommates! There are so many ways to design your Scarecrow, personalization of yourself, recreation of your favourite character or someone close to you. Keep the finished Scarecrow for yourself or even stake it in a family member or friend's front yard as a surprise Fall decor piece. There's lots of fun to be had in a safe way.

Safe Activity During COVID-19

This holiday season, we will al be rethinking the way we have fun and celebrate this year. Safety and limiting the spread of COVID-19 is our first priority. We love how our "take and make" kits provide a fun, family activity that is done together as a family, at home. Be sure to share your finished Scarecrows on Social Media and tag us!

Enjoy Festive Decor

Once you've finished your Scarecrow, it can now be used as a Fall decorative piece for your home! Everytime you pass by it, you can remember the fun times and memories you had building it. Stake it in your garden, display it at your front porch with some corn stalks, a Mum & Fall Planter or even leave it inside if you like. Either way will bring the Fall feeling to your home!
