A western Canada native plant of higher elevations. A relatively slow grower. Wild collected trees from high elevations are frequently stunted and work well in rock gardens.
A dwarf cultivar, has dark green needles and has a spherical-like habit. It becomes more cone-shaped as it matures. It has dense foliage on tiered, horizontal branches. Prefers acidic soil and cooler climate.
