NEW ARRIVAL: Silver Mix Begonias at Art's Nursery in Surrey
These begonias are a hidden gem boasting striking silver/metallic foliage. With proper care, Silver Mix Begonias are known as a reliable and rather fool proof indoor or outdoor seasonal tropical plant. They provide beautiful interest for your end of Summer planting outside and indoors for the Fall.
CARE: Begonias are easy when it comes to light requirements. They do prefer indirect sunlight or a shady outdoor setting. They're great for your patio or entrance way as a standalone plant in a planter because of it's unique interesting pattern. We'd recommend planting in a 6-8" pot and enjoy outside and then bringing indoors at the end of Summer. These plants are very forgiving of your watering habits. They can dry thoroughly between waterings and if it happens to go too long and the leaves begin to droop, after watering it, it will easily spring back!
TRANSPLANTING TIPS: When removing your begonia from it's nursery pot, gently remove from crown of plant. If severely root bound, loosen the roots with your hands by massaging them gently. If not, just pot directly into new mix which should be a well drained medium potting mix. We would recommend our Pro Mix soil for indoor tropicals. This soil is free of fungus and disease, starting your plant off right! When placing into the new container, ensure it is still at the top level - do not place any soil above the crown of the plant, the new soil should just be at bottom and sides. Water it in thoroughly. A newly potted plant will take longer to dry out so be sure to leave more time than usual between waterings at the beginning.
BLOOMS: Very often, once the Silver Mix Begonia plant matures they will produce flowers! We can even see a few buds developing.
Enjoy while quantities last.
