How Do I Grow Garlic?

Garlic is easy to grow as long you are patient! Break up a head of garlic and plant one garlic clove in any good, well drained soil. Fall is the best time, but Spring is also an option. Minimum spacing is 4-6 inches apart. Wait nine months. Yes, we said nine months. It takes than long to grow garlic! Fertilize moderately while it is growing.  A foliar feed that is high in nitrogen every 10-14 days is recommended.

Garlic bulbs begin to grow once the summer season begins and after the top growth has stopped growing. Cease fertilizing at that time. You can tell it is time to harvest as the top green foliage will start to turn yellow and wilt.
