This hardy ginger has dark leaves with deep red backs. It forms clumps with showy thick, deep red stems. 'Cinnamon Spice' has lavender purple, orchid-like flowers on the top of the stalks in mid summer.

Very exotic, tropical looking perennial that forms an upright clump of thick purple red stems. Plants sport narrow dark green leaves with deep reddish undersides. Orchid-like flowers appear atop the stems late summer into fall. Plants do not emerge until late May-June.
Likes humus rich, well-drained soil.
