This is a cross between Chinese witch hazel (Hamamelis mollis) and Japanese witch hazel (Hamamelis japonica). Hamamelis x intermedia ‘Aphrodite’ has slightly crimped, orange-red, sweetly-scented flowers. The dark green leaves fade to an intense red before falling in autumn.

Orange Beauty Witchhazel
‘Orange Beauty’ is an orange-flowered form with upright-spreading branching. It will typically grow to 8-12’ tall. It is noted for its winter-blooming, mildly fragrant, deep yellow to orange-yellow flowers (to 1” long), each having four narrow, ribbon-like, crinkly petals. Axillary clusters of these flowers bloom along the stems from late January to March. Broad-oval, green leaves (to 6” long) turn shades of yellow, orange and red in fall.
