How Do I Fix a Really Wet Lawn?

A moist or wet lawn can cause problems with growth and make it a challenge to enjoy properly. An excessively wet lawn is a sure sign of overwatering or poor drainage. Water less to solve the first problem. The second problem is more challenging. The easiest fix is to add a soil-sand blend like our Turf Blend soil. This raises the soil level and the sand improves drainage in the area. If this does not work, you may have to install  extra drainage in the area.

In this case a french drain may be all you need. To install a french drain, buy the perforated black drain pip commonly known as Big-O. Dig a trench in a direction that allows the water to leave the area. Fill the bottom part of the trench with 3/4 round or crush gravel. Install the drain pipe and surround it with landscape fabric. Cover the pipe with more drain rock and then cover the whole deal with soil. This new drainage should help remove the excess water in the area.
