Balsam fir is very similar to the Fraser Fir. both have short needles, a whitish underside, stiff branching and reasonably long needle retention when cut. Balsam fir also has an attractive fragrance when the needles are brushed or bruised
Highlights:
- Similar to Fraser Fir in Shape / Size
- Slightly Stronger Fragrance Than Fraser
- Undersides of Needles silver, light grey, but less bright than Frasers
- Holds Needles Quite Well
- Often Narrower than Noble, Grand or Nordmann
