This British hybrid produces tall stems with spikes of bicolor blooms, in a combination of red and soft yellow. Excellent massed in the sunny border. Prune back to 6 inches after blooming, to rejuvenate the foliage.
As Lupines are not particularly long lived, plan to add in new plants every couple of years. Be on the lookout for aphid infestations just around blooming time and control with an organic insecticide
Yhe tall spires of Lupines are a summer border classic. Plants grow best in deep, rich soil, slightly on the acidic side.
